Atwood XXXlX Date Announced

The tournament will be May 1-3, 2009.

We have confirmed the Committee Cabin for Thursday, April 30 - May 3. Thursday is reserved for people who help The Committee. Beer, Food, Grill etc. It is not meant for drive-by people. If they (sub-committee) stay there, the cottage should also be picked up before the group comes in.

In addition, we have reserved 8 cottages and 10 rooms for the weekend. You may get those cottages for Thursday also. THERE ARE NO ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR THURSDAY, APRIL 30. There is another group that has sold out the Lodge, Monday through Thursday Night.

A couple of improvements that will take place this year:

(1) Everyone is urged to stay through the Championship! Since this is not Mother's Day weekend, you can plan accordingly. If you have not participated in "The Gallery", it actually may be more fun than playing in the finals.

(2) If you don't stay Saturday night (and that's your choice) you are asked to help clean the Cabin Saturday morning. This usually involves picking up cups, sweeping and mopping the Cabin floor and doing any dishes that people forget to clean. It may take 15-30 minutes if everyone helps.------------Remember your Mom does not come to this event. We don't want to post a work sheet, but you know who you are.

(3) Younger duffers (that is anyone under the age of 30) you are ALWAYS responsible for Ice. Many of you stepped up last year----The Committee appreciates and remembers.

(4) It is entirely possible that next years event will be crowded. We had 8 veterans not able to attend, for one reason or another. Consequently, the first 56 to send money to The Committee will be the attendees. We can't go to 64 for a myriad of reasons. Rudi Kenik and Jeff Ference already have their money in. We are not requesting money at this point, just don't forget next Spring. We would hate to see someone who has been there for years not be able to attend, but we will have to cut if off at 56.

ATWOOD XXXVIII was a great event. Many highlights (lowlights) occurred. In addition to make this Tournament work, a lot of help is needed, please do your part. Remember, no matter how good a golfer you may be, or what a good guy you think you are, YOU'RE NOT ALL THAT. Feel free to comment.
