The official transfer ownership of the 47-year-old lodge and golf course to the county from the MWCD concludes several years of work by the MWCD to find a new owner for the facility. Commissioners said they hope to open it as soon as possible and will begin an aggressive effort to locate an appropriate operator.

Calling all D's:
The new management company at Atwood Lake resort is asking all D golfers to report on March 1st for a special outing. To inaugurate the re opening of the course all D's will be given a long handled sickle instead of a golf club. The D's will then be turned loose on the overgrown course to "swing away". It’s hoped they can cut & clear most of the overgrown grasses on the course this way. However, one pundit expects that as usual, the D's wont get anywhere near a green or the middle of any fairways. Those areas may have to be cut by the new grounds crew. C’mon D’s, “swing away baby”. Carte’s double D’s who double whiffed in the finals, need not apply.

Perhaps a few sheep could accomplish the same thing, with less effort, and might prove useful to some afterwards.... I am thinking maybe Blanche and Snack Boy might know where to procure some from their Native Land...
