DELLROY, Ohio –
Atwood Lake Resort, a once-popular vacation spot about 20 miles south of Canton, has closed for a second time, and will be auctioned off next week. Carroll County Commissioner Jeffrey Ohler blamed the lodge's recent setback on the collapse of the region's oil and gas industry.
"It was poor timing," said Ohler, of the county's decision in 2012 to reopen and reinvest in the property. "We took a chance."
Now he's hoping there's an interested buyer who's willing to do the same thing.
