Atwood XLVI Letter [Save the Date: April 27-30]

Location: Oglebay Resort and Convention Center

Wheeling, WV (Almost Heaven)

Defending Champs: M. O’Reilly, S. Province, K. Yohman, T. Ferguson

Dear Duffers,

Things look bleak out there. Inflation is causing the price of everything to skyrocket, belief in the media is at an all-time low, division is everywhere.  As the committee look to tackle all of those problems, other questions linger.

Will “Doctor without Borders” ever pay on time?

Will Carte Blanche ever live up to the hype and win a championship (22 years and counting).

Will the ICON bless us all with another year of wisdom (that no one asks for or listens to)?

What we do know is that there is something to get excited about and put on your calendar.

Atwood XLV Recap and Save the Date for 2023

Atwood XLV

April 29 - May 1, 2022

Dear Duffers,

In yet another historical moment in Atwood History, we had both semifinals end in ties and require additional holes to get our Finals match up. Team Moore put up a valiant fight but, in the end, we have new Champions.

Mike O’Reilly, Scott Province, Kevin Yohman, Tim Ferguson

Team O’Reilly might pose a problem for years to come, especially because there is yet another Ferguson on a winning team. This makes a 6th title for the Ferguson Clan. Just another reminder that having little to no actual athletic talent isn’t a hinderance to winning an Atwood championship. Apparently, it’s a competitive advantage.

While there is currently an internal investigation going on to determine the status of a Hall of Fame inductee who missed the induction ceremony, we were able to introduce 2 new HOF members (DiBiasio, Haas), a new Legend (Stosh) and our first ever Verno Award winner.

Speaking of the Verno award the Committee has been receiving numerous reports on possible winners for next year. Keep the submissions coming.

Make sure you clear your calendar for Atwood XLVI, April 27 – 30.

Insincerely,

The Committee 2.0
